Cid Back ~ Lightning Strikes Eorzea

You’ll encounter some familiar faces in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, including Cid Raines who originally appeared in Final Fantasy XIII. He serves as a spokesman for the thoughts of the dead, and you can see him in this week’s circuit via Famitsu. Serah Farron will also reappear in some form, as will Caius, but we’ll keep any spoilers to a minimum.

Serah can be seen in both her Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII-2 appearance. We also see more images of Bhunivelze, referred to as “God” in the final installment of the trilogy

Lightning will be making her notorious debut in Eorzea this week, and the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn team has detailed the quest line that will cross your path with the Final Fantasy XIII heroine. Told in four chapters, a new quest will become available every other day and conclude on December 9th as per the schedule below. For participating, you’ll receive a wealth of Final Fantasy XIII-themed gear including Lightning and Snow’s outfits.

By speaking to reporters on the scoop in Eorzea’s three city-states you’ll be able to initiate the quest line. Fear not, if you happen to miss Lightning’s exploits, she will return to coincide with the North American/European launch of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
